short in dash gages

i have a 93 s10 blazer 4.3L i just bought. 2 days after buying it i lost all my gages, cruise control, the ability to charge my battery, and gained a very doggish transmition. a blown fuse was the problem, it was labled 'gage\ign'. when i got to work and after 3 20A fuses i jumpered in an aviation styled circuit breaker ( i'm an aircraft mech). that night on the way home no problem and for the next 2 weeks. but last night major problems. i had an hour and 1\2 drive home with the warning tone sounding in my ear, the same one that sounds when you turn your lights on without starting you truck. th c.b. would pop i would try and reset it but it wouldn't take. i did notice tat when i would cycle the gear shifter ( i.e. 1, 2, d, and over drive) i was able to reset the c.b. my question is the transmittion have anything electrial that controls it. i'm waiting for this weekend to crawl under and take a look my self. any info you guys might have on this would help me when the time comes.
