I have a 1985 k5 blazer 350 5.7 L
I removed the dust cover on my distributer and put on my new pretty air cleaner, and fired up my truck. Well to make a long story short the distributor went up in smoke. I replaced the ignition coil, fuseable links, starter solenoid and still get nothing. I did the old starter screwdriver trick and that turned the starter on, but when I try it with the key I get nothing at all not even a noise. I looked at the fusebox but it is so old and faded I couldn't see what was what. I took the fuses out one by one and checked them and didn't see anything wrong with them. I hooked up a volt meter to the distibutor ignition coil and it reads 0. I checked all surrounding wires to see if something was loose or fried and found nothing. Since I unplugged everything from the dash I couldn't tell if I was getting power to my instrument panel, but my headlights turn on. Is there a fuse, wire, or something I'm doing wrong please help me.
