One thing you kids should remember...
VTEC (valve timing electronically controlled) allows you to achieve a higher RPM thereby moving more fuel/air and creating more power.
A turbocharger allows you to move more fuel/air as well, but without the extra RPM. Low-tourque engines (i.e. "small") like the B18 rely on the ability to rev up extremely quickly and move into the "cam phase"
where the VTEC can work most efficiently. By adding a turbo, you will be robbing yourself of a great deal of tourque in the low-end, and probably is not a good idea unless the car is going to be a race car.

Recently, at my local strip (Kil-Kare Speedway, Xenia, Ohio), I got to see a young fellow race his '93 Civic hatch to a screaming time of 10.69 in the quarter. He uses a turbo...used to use NOS but didn't make him any faster. The car is perfectly street legal when he takes off his front slicks. However, it is definitely NOT a daily driver as he says the car is very uncomfortable to drive normally.

Bottom line...a turbo on top of the VTEC (Type-R, GSR, etc.) is cool, but probably will not give you any more USABLE power over applying the same turbo to the non VTEC...it's almost a waste.
