I was heading home on the freeway last night and all of a sudden a huge group of cars surrounded and passed me. I looked around and each one was hooked up. They were all lining up and racing eachother just messing around and shit. From what I saw there were 3 WRX's, a Trans Am, a 4.6 Mustang, and a Corvette.
I pulled up next to the Trans Am for the hell of it, gunned it in third, and all I saw were his taillights about 15 car lengths up, before I even hit 90mph... pulled up next to a yellow WRX, and he took me by about 2 cars from 55-100. Not too shabby, but I was still bottom of the barrel here. I got next to the silver WRX, and it was just over before it started. He destroyed me. There was a black WRX that I barely took by about 1/2 a car, I think all he had was an exhaust. The Trans Am and Corvette lined up and took off from about 65mph, and the vette got blown out of the water too.
My alarm started going off and I saw a cop going the other direction pull into the median, and start following us. 3 of us (me, yellow WRX, and the 4.6) got off an exit and some others just kept going. The WRX turned left, me and the stang turned right. Of course he follows us. After about 2 miles of him tailgating the stang and me hanging back a bit, the cop pulls up beside him, then pulls off onto a turn lane and goes away. Both of us pulled into a gas station and when he got out, he was in some sort of security uniform (lol). He told me "ha, bet that pig pulled off because he saw my badge haha".. This guy was cool as hell though, and gave me props on my car.
Turns out there's some huge group of racers here in Columbus and they even have their own website forum (
www.columbusracing.com). He said they get together every Friday night etc. and hang out, and there's like 30-40 of them. He told me how the Trans Am was boosting and runs 11 second 1/4's.. I believed it. The Silver WRX was running 20lbs and had a ton of money into the thing on lcd screens and upgrades under the hood. He gave me his sign-on name and stuff and told me to check it out. Damn I can't wait until next Friday to check out all their cars and meet all these people..
