The latest issue of Sport Compact Car makes a statement against street/road racing, and how bad it is. While I can certainly see their point, I can't buy into it either. Racing is dangerous, but also fun. And if done in moderation, it's still dangerous, you've got me there, but the risks can be cut way down. I personally just race on wide highways with few bends in them, plus I am lucky enough to live in Connecticut, which is frankly a speeder's paradise. Many big, wide, multi-laned roads with 65 speed limits, generally in good shape (the DOT {Department Of Transportation} of the State of Connecticut has a mind-bogglingly large budget and a relatively small number of square miles over which to spend it), and the cops just don't pull you over as frequently as they do in many other states.
I know its irresponsible, juvenile, and dangerous, but hell, I just can't help myself.. and I for one am not a reckless idiot about it, which is when I ceases to be tolerable in my book.
