All I did for the signage was mix 60% Testors flat black and 40% Thinner, added some rust powder (dried out steel wool) and "dirtied" it up!

I use Kodak photopaper to lay my Photoshop creations on so it has a geat shiny layer on top that you can put nice scratches onto with an Exacto knife.
