Honestly there is no way to stop swirls during washing. Dont use a brush for 1 thing. Start using good quality car shampoo with wax, use a soft CLEAN wash mit, drying either with CLEAN chamois or CLEAN microfiber towels. Use as little pressure as possible. Use a back 'n forth motion, not circular. Even a high-pressure touchless car wash can leave marks from the dirt being pressed against paint.
This is why you buy silver, gold, or a white car. Usually any light colored non-metallic wont show swirls like dark or metallic colors.
