the 4th gens are the 92 through 96 model years, the 97 through 01 are the 5th gens. 4th gens come in si or VTEC versions. most will tell you to get the VTEC. 5th gens come in base or SH form. i'd say it's pretty split between the two. depends on what you want. for a daily driver that you don't plan on doing major modifications with, i'd say go for the SH. you can put a mild turbo kit or a supercharger on it and it'll work out great. but if you want to throw on a more aggressive turbo or something else, go for the base. both cars handle well. you'll love the way the ATTS works on the SH, but the unit itself has some issues when you start to heavily modify the car such as boosting too much or lowering too much. but whatever you do, if you can, avoid the sportshift automatic model of the 5th gen. just trust me on that one.
