Yes you can take it out. No problem at all. Just pass smog first and than do it. or just order a muffler and have custom piping done from the header to the muffler, or just run a b pipe, it'll be load but what the hell. And resonators are what make the sounds you hear from all kinds of the exhaust systems on the road.
