Sounds like a fuel delivery problem?? Have you/they checked out the fuel filter or pump??
Also have them check the fuel pump resistor. As soon as ClubGP is back up I'll post some links on the Fuel Pump Resistor issue.

You would think that these shops would do more than just check the computer. But, if they dont see anything wrong on the PCM atleast you know that it's ok.
