if he used the wrong axels it will not work properly... also if he used an inproper half shaft this will happen as well.
the Y1 transmission came with a Slightly longer half shaft than the YS1 A1 or S1.
My setup is a S1 tranny with an A1 Half shaft and 90-91 axels work fine. now depending ont he transmission he has this may not work... check the HASport website for the Lowdown on Axels.
