the way I see it you can do it in atleast two ways, you can either do it wth a 'pop switch'(?) that connects when the trunk is opened OR you can get one of those 'tilt' swiches and set it so that when the trunk is opened to possition Y the tiltswich connects.
Or you can always have a switch in the compartement of the car that you connect to the ignition so that you can manually turn the trunk neons on and off and when then ignition is off so are the neons.
there is probably a hundred ways of doing it depending on wheter or not you wish to use relays or not..
