Ok here starts the progress.

Although the general body shape is very good on the model the rear wheel arch flattens off on the top on this model and it doesn't look too good when the wheel's nice and round and the arch is flat. So I got out my file and rounded off the flat section. Hard to see difference on photos but it'll show when all the paints done.

Nice and round.

Next up is the front air vents, there is a forward slant to them to curb off the plactic, in the car there is no forward slant, the bonnet's just cut off for the vents. The plastic was also way too thick on the real car it's just like sheet metal the model was at least three times that. So I got my file out again and filed off the slanted section and also filed the plactic with a backward slant under the bonnet so that it looks much thinner.

Before

After

As you can see I've also now sanded down all the mould line, there were quite a lot but obviously it's worth the effort.

The only sink marks on the body are the one's on the rear spoiler lip which I've now puttied in with Tamiya epoxy putty. I've almost finished sanding them smooth.

The chassis is cast metal and the casting is pretty poor so after a lot of filing I've now primed it ready for some matt black paint (when I get some).

Sorry if I've posted too many pics, I'm trying to do a thorough progress as this is my first and I haven't got lazy yet .

As you've seen the model comes with three vents on each front wing but I think i'm gonna convert it to a 2 vent version which seems to be far more common and looks nicer to me so that's probably going to be the next part.
