i beg to differ. a complete z6 is almost as cheap as the head swap these days. you can find vtec head for $150-200 or a complete z6 for $250 (if you keep an eye open). just sticking on the head
it will never be reliable. big waste of money. maybe it was worth it back in the day when a z6 was $800 or more and hard to get....but these days they are a dime a dozen.
you say your gf's is running good....that is the first time i have ever heard that. but maybe since it was converted. if that was the case then you shouldn't be talking about not being able to afford the z6 swap. if a person can't "afford" the swap then chances are they can't "afford" to convert to obd1. a z6 + rpm activate switch = more reliable vs a6 + head + obd1 conversion.
