OBD II or OBD I

Alright this is probably one of the oldest questions in the book, I know that OBD I has less oxygen sensors and thus is a little easier to deal with when modifying....but is there really a need or an advantage to buying the harness to switch your car over to OBD I from OBD II? thanks again for the infos....just tryin to learn some shee.....
