U-haul can determine the maximum weight you can carry safely in any vehicle , as well as towing capacity. They told me my '03 Grand Cherokee was not big enuff to haul my 92 Eclipse on a trailer , so I had to rent a larger truck. I beleive the formula was , the towing vehicle has to weigh 3 or 4 times what the towed vehicle weighs.....not real sure on that , its been a while .....
