And so it begins...
1/24 Tamiya Audi Quattro Road Car
I have my workbench setup, plenty of new supplies, and my
spray booth project is complete so there was no excuse but to start modeling after a 13 year hiatus.
I am using Pman's technique for body paint from the How-To section. Here is the results from for the primer. Of course I am pissed because I have two spots of obvious dust that have to be taken care of with some light wet sanding. I don't know if Pman avoids this step or somehow never has any dust problems. I was hoping my spray booth would take care of this but maybe I am just sucking dust in from the rest of the room.
I closed the plexiglass lid on my paint booth and will let the paint dry for 24hrs prior to placing it in my long term dust free place (an old microwave in my basement). My lonely spraybooth awaits my return.
I am planning to paint my vehicle like this one, Metallic Gun Metal Gray.
This is supposed to by my "practice" model to try out all the new techniques I have learned from this forum and others, but I can tell already I expecting nothing less than perfection. I need to take a deep breath, enjoy it, and work on developing my new skills. This is supposed to be a stress relieving hobby!
