Since the upgrade of the message board, there have been various scripts running on the server to make the database more efficient and things like that. There has been a pretty intensive script running all day long since early this morning. That is why you are experiencing the slowness. However, to answer your question, yes, there are plans on acquiring another server in the future, as finances allow.
