more stupidity...
So back in the day of my old 'lude we were all hanging around at my friend "Jasons" house when we decide to go to Blockbusters. "Brian" and myself hop in my '91 Prelude SI while "George" jumps in his '92 318is. We're racing through traffic for several miles trading position 'till finally "George" gets stuck behind a soccer mom and I sailed past him not noticing how close I was to the left turn I needed to make. Neither of us noticed that while at "Jasons" house it had been raining a little, just enough to slick down the roads and help to almost total my ride. I slammed on the brakes and started fishtailing down the left turn lane trying to stop for the now yellow left turn signal. I of course did not stop and proceeded into the intersection facing the wrong way and still sliding towards the oncoming row of cars waiting for a green light. Seeing headlights in my rearview mirror I slammed the tranny into first gear and pulled the car out of it's slide and made the right turn towards Blockbusters (remember I did a 180) shaking all the while. "George" didn't make the light and called me soon after to tell me I was a crazy SOB which I thought was funny (you'd have to know "George" to find the humor) all the while "Brian" is telling me how i'm the best driver he's ever seen and that was the coolest thing ever. I am absolutely not claiming to be the best driver in the world, my friend must not have sensed the fear of iminent death as I did and only saw what I'll admit must've been a pretty impressive show of recklessly slinging a car into a turn at too high a speed for conditions. I was shaking for several minutes after that near accident, it was cool afterward, terrifying at the time. I've got way more true stories much like this one, if not even more stupid and reckless so if you wanna here them just reply and i'll do my best to dig into my memory banks.
