Those pics are of somewhat extreme off-roading. It's no surprise that pretty much all SUV's built today wont be able to handle this kind of challenge, but all that's rather pointless. Besides, the jeep in your pic couldnt handle it. 99% of people who buy off-roaders
because they need one dont want to climb up the sides of mountains, and the Cayenne does a damn good job of tackling more
real off-road challenges, i.e. mud, steep gradients. Plus it seats five in full comfort. Life is about compromise, and a machine like the Cayenne that can do a safe 150mph+ on the motorway, lap with an M3, and tackle the mud is a hell of an achievement. Possibly the greatest motoring achievement of all. Debate all you like whether it should have been built by a company like Porsche or not, but belittling its abilities is ridiculous.
