I just installed my halo projectors about three weeks ago and am very frustrated with my decision. Its a combination of the plates inside the projector housing and the tiny H1 bulbs you gotta use in em that makes it so bad. H1 bulbs are already undersized, then the beam is aimed down and restricted in the housing. I have some 4000K PIAA bulbs in mine and still am VERY displeased with output and light distribution on the road. It has pushed me into stretching my pockets to get a HID kit (which are illegal to buy in stores now) The halo part of the projector is irrelevant, thats just for looks.
Ask anybody with projectors and they will say the same.
