That's why your question seemed a bit confusing...

Surely they could convert any engine to match the output of the LM. I think they've modified one car's engine to be even more powerful than the 680hp output of the LM.

The real trick would be to go for the LM-spec motor and keep the F1 road car's gearbox. Can you say "250 mph" ??
