...so i bought a pre-owned bmw 2001 325i, and i've driven bmw's before, but only the older ones without any of the fancy traction control systems
my question is simple, why won't DSC stay off / turn off
when its on, it reacts the way it should, but when i turn it off i still can't spin the wheels on dry pavement. Dumping the clutch at 5 thru 6 grand will rev the engine to 5-6 grand, it will keep those rpms (until it hits around 20mph), and the car will begin to accelerate... (same effect as if my clutch was slipping, engine will rev and car will begin to accelerate) i know my clutch is fine, because it grabs right away, plus i tried to accelerate in 3rd gear from ~30 mph, and the clutch didn't slip... the car just started going.
the only time i've gotten the rear to lose grip was in the rain, and EVEN then certain times / certain instances i can feel the traction control kick in...
damn this is some good technology... but can i please spin my wheels! it was so easy to do in a 1988 318, and that thing was a 4cylinder!
is it possible the relay for the traction control system is damaged? so that even when i have it off, its still on?
is this normal?
i appreciate any feedback!, i would like to fix anything now that i still have warranty on the car
