Thats a big negative! Automotive base coats, (the color) that we use at the shop, are all flat drying, once you put clear cote on it then it will be glossy, so if you put clear cote over flat black it will be just as shiny if you sprayed a shiny base under it. Just spray the flat black exactly how the P-man said, nice and even an at a steady speed and it should come out good.
