4-2-1 or 4-1?

Hi all, this is my first post. I'm looking into headers for my 99 Civic LX.

I'm looking into getting some DC Sports Headers. I have heard that 4-1 headers increase torque from 4000+ RPM range and up.

But I have heard elsewhere that 4-2-1 headers help with low-end torque? Is this true.

Ultimately I plan on buying headers, then a high-flow cat and I picked up a glasspack this weekend. I am going to get some brackets and do me some welding to make everything bolt-on and then have an exhaust shop run pipe from the muffler back. Hopefully I'll be able to spin the tires after all this, and run better than the 18.3 I did at the track recently!

While I'm on the subject, I am planning on removing the stock resonator, as I'm under the impression that's what a glasspack does!
