Anyway, I am all for space exploration, and I think that if we want to outlive the earth as a species, we'd better get on the ball. Because this planet is in reality a ticking time bomb. There are so many things ready to wipe us out (giant killer asteroids, our sun going supernova, the next ice age, etc.). I know that these are things that may not be happening for a long time, but eventually one of things will destroy our planet or at least its ability to sustain life. We'll need to be ready with a back up plan when good old mother earth kicks the bucket.. or we'll just kick the bucket with her and go down with the ship.

As for me personally, yeah, I guess I could dig checking out space. I do reserve myself to being content with exploring this vast planet for myself for now, however. It's a big world out there, and there's a lot to be seen and experienced, as johnny pointed out previously.
