Wow...that is one helluva awesome launch Razor..yeeeeeeeeeeeeha! George Bush will like that!
I have launched mine at various rpm...5500/6500 and 7500 rpm. All with different result. I was then using OS Giken double plate clutch with the ETC switched off thus relying solely on the ATESSA.
With 5500rpm launch, the car launched smoothly out of the line without any spin at all and against an EVO 6 RS, I managed to be head to head in 1st and 2nd gears (which was really good considering the RS' weight advantage). In 3rd, I slapped the RS silly!
At 6500rpm, the rear spins a teeny wee bit and I think there was not much of a difference between 5500 n 6500 rpm launches.
Somewhere between 7000-7500 rpm, yes, it gets really wild n manic. The rear wheels must be really warmed up before doing this as they will spin quite a bit. And when it takes off, the car would struggle for traction (especially the front wheels...the car can be a bit unruly at this point) if the wheels are not warm. I have tried this one nite and shyte...let's just say I won't do it again if the wheels are cold!
But if the wheels are warm, 7500rpm would be the best launch in my car. Done that uphill (about 10% incline) and I recorded 4.6secs. 0-100kph on my HKS timer!
