Considering what Belgium is doing with all those "war crimes" suits, I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner.

Why should the United States run away and hide in the face of a judicial inquiry?Does Rumsfeld know more about war crimes than he cares for the world to be shown?
The U.S. defence budget [and the U.S.'invade and subvert' budget] runs to billions of dollars. The U.S. government's public relations budget probably runs to millions as well.If Rumsfeld is convinced that any accusations of war crimes are baseless ,then he has all the resources at his fingertips to defend the U.S. IN ANY COURT OF LAW.Instead,he is attempting to pervert the cause of justice by threatening, quite ridiculously,to remove NATO from Belgium.Hey Rummy, here's a heads up...NATO IS NOT YOURS TO REMOVE,YOU FUCKWIT.It is a multinational institution whos function is based on dialogue and cooperation, not some plaything for the President's chief bully.Belgium is a perfectly neutral country with regards to the war that George Bush has visited upon Iraq, and has laws which permit the scrutiny of other nations actions. If as we are constantly being told, the war on Iraq was both neccesary and engaged in as humane a manner as possible,Uncle Sam has nothing to fear from fronting up to international justice. The very fact that Rumsfeld is prepared to make such threats would indicate that he has very little spine when asked to account for the actions of his troops.
