We tried to upgrade our message board software which would have resulted in faster page loads, more functionalities, and many other great things. However, the server, although it is a beast, could not handle working with a database of over 2 gigabytes. The /var partition had to be moved by a server tech on-site in order to expand it. At that point, the process of restoring the database backup that we made before attempting the upgrade began. However, this again, took many many hours due to the size and the number of entries in the database.
