Hard to say. Obviously, you get a larger displacement engine, but personally, I think enough can be done to the DET without the need for a stroker kit.

See above. You can, but cams designed for SR20DET should work just the same.

No, it doesn't matter. What people do is they use the products that suit their application best and work best. So ask around (are you on the se-r mailing list?) Also, don't forget about JWT products, they are a renowned specialist in this field.
