use the 5 OZ. of marvel oil and change the engine oil when hot. use the better oil filters.
purolator pure one is what I use. synthetic is also what I use and it is best.

see if you can get some air bags for the rear or air shocks.

also add another leaf spring or replace with some heavier duty types.

I'm still seeing the check engne light switch itself on and off on a fairly regular basis. Maybe one of those "crankcase cleanout" treatments with my next oil change, followed by synthetic oil will solve the problem if I don't get totally fed up and trade the bloody thing in for something else. The springs on this "Work Truck" are the flimsiest pickup truck springs I've ever seen. A yard of wet mullch bottomed them out.

    AF is for automotive forum.

yes these are good vehicles for light duty and better MPG than a regular sized truck. good for service stores like NAPA to make delivery's at a lower cost.

with these engines made today oil sludge is becoming a bigger problem. the passageways are much smaller. I responded because I felt using a product that would increase viscosity may cause oil flow to be effected.

many expensive toyota engines are also effected by sludge. most vehicles today are made to be used with synthetic to reduce sludge issues. alcohol in our fuel is causing more water/mositure to work into the crankcase.

post back with how things are working out good luck.

j cAt: What does AF stand for? BTW, TX for the confirming support for my Chevrolet Colarado issues. These trucks seem to do very well in "fleet" operations. NAPA has a lot of them, but in that context, they get regular work and regular routine service. If I had known what I know now, I might have considered trying to find another older 7' bed Ford Ranger 5 speed manual like the one which was a victim of a 19year old "distracted driver" on her cell phone.
