    Hi Geoff,

Haven't seen any photos come through to my gmail yet, if you get a chance I would be keen to see your progress. I also have a 2 year window which I am pushing hard for, but mine is only focused on getting the chassis running - due to my unconventionl setup. It means my weight dist is 45/55 driver & fuel, 44/56 with 2 passengers onboard. What sort of weight allowance have you given for body and glazing? I was thinking around 160 kg for outer shell and glazing and 80 kg for interior as most of it will be really thin carbon fibre panel glued together as big autoclaves are too expensive. What are you doing for underbody protection - the roads around here have all sorts of debris and I was going to run an high density polymer sheet so that stones don't damage the steel frame or the carbon panels. My steel frame is around 145 kg, but working to take weight out as its fairly unstressed.
    Cheers,
    Marcus.

    Cheers,
    Marcus.

I have not been able to work on it too much. I have been able to procure a few more "genuine" McLaren F1 parts like the air vents and window switches. But having a second kid has put a continued hiatus on the project. That being said they are both getting to the point where i don't need to watch them 24-7, so i am actually hoping to work on the drivers seat this weekend, for at least a little while. How about you and your project?

Really so it's old school type. I used to have a devil of a job getting the MOT testers to pass the bloody thing, wonder if things have changed any?
Am surprised Gordon had never come accross a Fly off handbrake lever before?

Fly off handbrake, lift to apply,... lift, pull trigger to release. sits flush so you get no unwelcome surprise when entering the car.

Gordon did not even know how one worked before he designed the F1.
