Here's the problem with it: Say your search turns up a thread with 100-200 posts in it. You don't know on what page or where what you searched for is in that thread, then you have to read through every post - in this situation the search feature is practically useless, but most of the time I've had no trouble.
Listen willingly.

I agree with this for the most part, but the keywords you are usually looking for are highlighted in red, so you can usually scan down the thread looking for those keywords.

Since the sever switch, the search function has returned no results when I am looking for some old modeling threads. It's very frustrating and I dont see how Jimster can be any more rude. It's called "stress release" and you're not helping it.

Listen willingly. Try the main Search Page (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/search.php?s=), and at the bottom left, select "Show results as posts." You'll be able to preview the first few lines of the posts returned.
Other than that, until the servers sync up again, may I suggest:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=site:www.automotiveforums.com+your+search+terms+ here

It is?
I have never actually found Jimster to be rude, at least not to me, although I guess he can be to the people that actually deserve it?

i just hate the bullshit search results that one can find on certain search engines...for example if you are to look up genital herpes for a project ...there's always that stupid fucking link that says "buy herpes at amazon.com" or something like that:bloated:

for a project...? :D
i should look up "prostitutes" if that's the case. search engines are lame, but google is alright. only one i use.
