My office owns alot of convention booth stuff and they were going to haul this piece off to the dump. So, I got to take it home instead of ruining this beautiful display case, which is 7'6" tall. I'm going to make multilevel stands for indivdual cars out of plexiglass. It should look sharp once I have all of my models in there. And if your bored...I included a movie for you too (just testing the new digy cam). Enjoy.

Here's a demo of things to come. Once I'm done there should be three main levels.

nice case.. aint too crazy about those lights on top. .. makes it seem like a carnival.

i dont think you 'll like the plexi glass shelves, they may be easy to cut and do your self, but after a while, you'll start seeing scratches in it.. it sags too if its too thin.

call a glass shop around you and see how much a sf of glass costs, they can cut to the size you need and polish or bevel the edges for you. You wont need tempered glass, so that can save you a bunch. and at the end, it'll look 100% better then plexi-glass especially if you are going to light it up

Thanks fellas...this should be a fun new project for my projects. The lights will eventually be replaced with blue light bulbs to calm them down and if I don't like that...I'll create some kind of border to cover up the holes.

I'm afraid I have to go with plexi due to weight. The stands are going to be too thin to support glass...we'll see how it goes. They shouldn't be moved around alot, so scratches shouldn't be an issue.
