Today is Secretaries' Day.....or at my office we call it Administrative Professionals Day since so many people here take offense at the word Secretary

But anyway, they are having Macayo's Mexican delivered to our office today for lunch. I love that place, and can't wait. Since I haven't had Macayo's since last summer (that's how hard I have been being good on my diet) I am dying for 12:30 to get here.

Random useless thought of the day...carry on.

Link? I have heard some pretty gross stuff about their beef too. Therefore I just avoid any fast food as much as possible.

Now when I worked at Taco Bell 13 years ago, the ground beef was actually cooked and the seasoning mixed there at the store. We also actually cooked the pinto beans and mashed them with a drill w/long extension/mashertool on the end. The shells and chips for nachos were also actually fried right there at the store. But then several years after I left I found out everything was coming in pre-packaged, already fried etc. The meat and beans were in plastic baggies and heated up, and the chips/shells were stale by the time they arrived at the store. The quality of the food overall went way down. I wont even go there now unless its the last resort or am outvoted when hanging out with friends.

the nice thing is though, some of them have Pizza Hut Express in them so I can have that now hehe.

My friend works @ taco bell and is quitting in a week cuz she cannot stand the shit that goes in the food. She says the meat (as kat said) comes in packaging and you just dump it on a tray and put it in the microwave and then you add seasoning to it and the meat is like rotten and gross....she might be reporting the restaurant too cuz she has gotten sick there the 2 times she ate there

btw..kat..what diet are u on?? I've been on Atkins low/no carb high protein diet for 2 months and lost almost 30 pounds

I'm so hungry. I hope the Union is serving decent food tonight. Usually their tacos aren't too bad... I bet it's some nasty night like meatloaf or something just b/c I'm hungry as hell. :(

No particular diet. I basically cut out junk food and soda. I eat smaller portions every few hours instead of 3 big meals a day. I allow myself a treat on occasion but don't keep any snack foods stocked at home. I also drink alot of water. I was going to the gym steadily 4 days a week too but that has fallen apart since schoolwork keeps me up late, much later than I would like to be. After the semester is over I am going to get back on my regular schedule.

Kat if you like mexican food i have some locations for you.

El Vira's. In A.J. north east corner of ironwood and apache
they have an excellent red burro (only 2.25) the tamales are pretty good, but small. they make their own tortillas so they are really good, but i wouldn't recomend the taco's.

carbajalls. a little closer then vira's its on main just west of sossaman
again an excellent red burro, a little bigger than at vira's but also a little more money, good enchillada's too.

El rico's. by far the best mexican joint i have ever had the pleasure of eating at! the tacos are phenomenal, chicken shredded beef or ground beef they are all superb. enchiladas, buritos, nachos, and a few other items; everything they have is a little taste of heaven. it is, however, a bit of a drive. get on power and drive south. about a quarter of a mile before power ends on the east side of the road you will find the best food in the state.:)

also el charro (don't remember exactly where it is, near brown and brown)
and jimenez country club north side of the road just east of extension in the little plaza

Too bad I didn't see this thread earlier. I just got back from a business trip to Phoenix. I ended up eating at Sam's Cafe at the Biltmore shopping mall.

Good god- I really don't trust that diet at all- Carbohydrates are extremely important for energy and nutritional purposes- although it's a shame to hear about the fate of Dr Atkins :( back last year he even went into cardiac arrest- not a good sign for the long term effects of the diet
