Ok, I'm new to the whole performance thing... I've had my 'lude for 2 years, and I've been doing as much research as I can, but it's a slow process all by myself.
1. My 'lude broke down. Symptoms - losing power when steping on gas,. Seemed like a misfiring plug, so I got the plugs and wires replaced. Nothing happened. About a week later, she just suddenly started working fine again. 3 days later, shifting from 2nd to 3rd out of a tollbooth, she just died. No smoke, no noises, she just up and died. Any ideas on what it may be?
2. I would like to be able to do all (or most anyway) of the work on her myself. I don't have any tools of my own, unless you count a crappy wrench set that I steal from my husband. Are there any foreign/honda specific tools that I may need, or just odd funky tools that aren't that common?
3. What kind of performance mods/parts do all of you experienced tuners recommend?
4. I'd like to get in touch with prelude owners in my area (near Boston), feel free to e-mail me.
Thanks

That's what we thought too, but no. Gramps thinks it is probably the computer. If replacing that doesn't work, I'll just keep replacing parts in the fuel system until I find the right one. Nothing like trial and error to learn.
Also, as an add on to my prev. post,
Once every couple of months, I'll go to start the car and the key won't turn. It'll just lock up and not move until for some reason it decides to let go... Any ideas on that one?

ignition relay
ignitior
i would recommend checking these first. but of course, doing a spark check would be ideal to find the source of the problem. if you have spark, then obviously the two above dont apply. but if you dont have spark, check the two above.
if you have spark, check this:
fuel pump relay
if you are not familiar with any of these, or how to do a spark check, get a manual for your car and look it up. i dont think you have enough basic mechanical experience to solve this problem without a LOT of help. that's just based on your posts. no offense.
