K20A JDM RSX Type R engine, possibly swap? I'm curious b/c even tho its expensive (actually mroe expensive than the F20C S2000) it puts out 220HP and 158ft/lbs of TQ. Just an idea...

i think they've already put a k20 in an eg already, so i dont see why it cant fit in an ef.

it's not worth it.....i looked into it and on ebay the said that they put it in a crx already....i personally think they were just tryin to sell the engine....but u'd be better off with a jdm b18c5 - 210hp@8000/134 lb-ft@7500 Displacement: 1797cc Compression Ratio: 10.8:1

cost the same and the only difference really is 10hp/28lb-ft torque and u can always deal with the high compression if ur getting a turbo

The engine doesn't even face the same way the EF engines to. They also spin in a different direction than EF engines. It's more trouble that it's worth. Get a B18C1 and build that up, it will be better than a C5 real soon, and cheaper.

Or if you're looking for the extra weight of a 2liter engine, there's always the B20Z ;)

i though that hasport was working on a Crossmember to bolt the K series engine in a EF

would it be worth it though?? aftermarket stuff may not fit if it's swapped in our cars......i dunno...i don't think the k20a is worth the price

hey i might be off on this, but i dont think that really matters. cause its not like you need to use any parts from the old powerplant. hasport has swapped one into a civic coupe already, since the subframes on the new civics are identical to the subframes on the civic Si and the RSX. i would imagine that with some custom welded mounts and a good bit of hacking in the engine bay that it would fit. of course, you will have to modify the wiring a lot (even more than h22 wiring swap) and then theres the issue of shift linkage.

anyway, the direction the motor spins, and the way it faces wont matter much, cause your not gonna try and put it in backwards just so it reminds you of the old honda motors. i think the front knuckles might be a problem, since the RSX has different size splines. maybe pressing hubs from the RSX into the knuckles from the civic. then of course the CV shafts from the RSX are prolly gonna be too long. all in all, its gonna be tough, but not nearly as ridiculous as some other things ive heard (2jz and f20 swaps)

anything is possible, it just comes down to how much money you have. as far as EF/K20 combo, I don't think it will be done by any normal person for quite a while... I just don't see the benefits of an engine as new as the K series as compared to the well known B series that is capable of so much.
