Tiburon vs. GS-T

ok i have a question folks. I own a GS-T and my wife has a co-worker who just got the 6speed Tiburon. now i looked around and seen it for base hp of like 180. he tells me that he owned a Mustang GT to include a Mustang Cobra and wants to run me. i have a bone stock GS-T spyder and am wondering if he would own me. cause from what ive seen on the specs there is no possible way. what do you all think?

im goin all out to the GS-T, cuz its turbo and the tirburon is a V6 engine producing 180 horses, and the GS-T has a 4g63 engine, so i would say the GS-T would win

like the fact that the tiburon is heavy?

power is the same/close for both cars...

so that's not the issue...

how about the gearing that sets your time/speed in a race?

just b/c it's a 4g63 and it's turbo doesn't mean it's going to win.

it would be a close race.. those new tiburon v6s has 170hp at the wheels.. and theres no way he owned a GT and Cobra, hes full of shit

If I'm not mistaken, The Tiburons didn't come with the 180hp that they quoted. I want to say 160hp? Not positive. Something like an extended warranty or whatever was substituted b/c they got caught lying. I think the Spyder myself will win. Good luck!

Umm..I'd say the GST..simple numbers..their weight is basically the same, no matter if whether either is a manual or automatic..torque is 181 vs. 213..HP is 170 vs. 210...the GST has a turbo..if it was a GSX, there would be NO question about who would win...plus come on..it's a freakin HYUNDAI..why does everyone keep defending hyundais?? yea they've come a LITTLE ways with the tuburon..but it's at a snail pace..maybe in 15 years they'll be a major contender though..

GST all the way. I used to sell Hyundai's, and yes there was a big legal thing over the 2.7 V6 in the Tiburon, Sonatas, and that ugly ass SUV. It only pushes like 172ish crank, so what.....130-140whp if its lucky.

I thought so 1320.. I didn't want to post up BS #'s about it though unless I was positive. Thanks for the clarification.

i dunno, i was rather skeptical on running him. when i hear a car has a 6 speed, i hear a car that can run. seems rather strange to me that its little to no powerful than the 5 speed version of it. after he heard the news on the real deal of his car, he wanted no part of a race. that and i told him it wouldnt be a really great idea to run the car hard when it only had 50miles on the odometer.

man my gs is pushin 170hp and i cant beat ya bigjim, let alone a mustang cobra, tell him that just because his speedo says 160 doesnt mean that is its top speed:D . tell ya what tell him to bring his little tiburon to my car and if he beats me then you might think about runnin him, lol otherwise look at him and go :flipa:
