Sounds like treason to me too, but also another person taking advantage of the Oil for Food Program. But you have to admit it sounds pretty good to receive all that money for not doing much.

can't see anything that he is claimed to have done as being treason,by any definition listed here.

Espionage,corruption,extortion maybe,but not treason.
Either way,the links in the story show that he has a long history of being pro- Saddam. His party executive should be asking themselves wether he is in any position to be loyal to the voters.

Powerful governments exploit weak ones. Its a fact of life. Before this war,the French were benefiting from Iraq's position. After this war,you can bet that it will be the Americans who are getting the unfair advantage.

I agree with some of this; however I believe that their will be many countries especially Iraq that will be better served.

Seems like this is just the first of many cases of people being linked to Saddam and his regime in some way or another. Why else would you support such a government, if you didn't have your own agenda to worry about?

Blait Condemned him but Blair is also fairly useless

The sun newspaper qouted him as saying the Iraqi people should rise up and fight back against the invading evil or something like that

He thinks he's the victim of patriotism but there are plenty of other MP's that opposed the war and they never got any hassle
