B20B swap.

Okay, without really knowing what I have gotten myself into, I just ordered a B20 here locally. So, now I need to get the extra shit I need to get it setup in my car.
So, I tried searching the forums here, and a few other places, but I really couldnt find much info on the B20. I assume it is similar to the B18 swap. I know I need new mounts, tranny, and shift linkage. Thats about it right? I will have to either pickup a OBD1 conversion, or wire in the OBD1 harness myself right? ECU will be that of a LS. Actually, I have read dyno sheets that show the DX/P06 ecu actually provided higher numbers.
Anyways, has anyone in the forum done just the B20 yet? I am trying to get ahold of Will, but he seems dead to the world.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, I just picked up a decent 88' Si for $400. :D
Thanks

Ok you will also need a 90-93 rear and drivers side motor mount brackets. You could also think about keeping it obd0 and use the 90-91 integra distributor, injectors, and 90-91 integra PR4 ecu.

are you doing straight B20B or CRVTEC? if you are going str8 b20, then you need to use a b16 intake manifold or a b18a/b one. The stock b20 one (giraffe) is too tall, and it wont clear your hood. you dont want that piece of ish anyways. :hehe:

I agree with you ALMOST. You can only use the ls manifold.
;)

yup if you use the b16 mani you need the head.
kris good choice of engine, when your done you will know why i love this engine so much. when i had straight 2liter i was running an ls comp. many people say thats the best comp. for straight 2L when it comes to air and fuel mixtures. on your motor mounts i would strongly recommend placeracing. not much vibration at all and holds the motor in there straight and firm. i've never heard about needing 90-93 motor mount brackets. i dont have them. now your tranny, an ls tranny would work fine, you'd have longer gears and a good 5th. the ls is a very good tranny and hard to fine. a b16 would be ideal if your looking for acceleration and quick shifting. i would recommend this one. also very hard to find. on your shift linkage all we did is modify my stock one. it will work just fine. or you can buy a new one. i think they run around $100.
but anyways good luck, if you have any questions or get stuck on something pm me i will call my mech. and i'll have him tell me what you should do.
once its on consider saving for a vtec head and all hell breaks loose in your car:devil:

Straight B20 right now.
Since I doubt I can get all this done by the meet next month, here is whats going on.
As soon as I pickup this hatch, I will strip it down. I mean everything. I will fix the minor flaws, then prep and paint it. Once thats done, I will work on getting it put back together, with the B20. The motor that is in that car, will be put in my current hatch, since my nice a6 I built has crapped out. That way I am not in a rush to get things ready for May, and I have something driveable.
As for the rear bracket, I have that already. Trans, I have access to a LS trans, but I am sure the b16 trans would be better. Not sure on what I will do with that.
Now, I have all the parts to keep it OBD-0. I would just use my existing harness, LS dizzy, and ECU. Would I need to swap in the LS cams? Or keep the B20 cams?
Also, would it be better to convert to OBD-1? I have most everything from a OBD-1 Motor, but not sure on what the pro's and con's are.
As for the intake manifold, which year? I have two sitting here, but they are from a 93 and a 91. I have read the ls manifold flows way better than the b20's. But again, not sure on the years that were being dyno'd. I have a GSR exhaust manifold to put on it for now, rather than order a aftermarket one.
Thanks so far..

I would keep it non obd cause of less restrictions. U can keep your b20 cams. The head are the same so...?

Well, arent automatic cams a little more mild than a standard? Thus the B20 might gain from LS cams? Just wondering on that...

wow i made it to this board for once:p :o
on my b20b i kept it obd0 and used a 91 ls ecu, and it plugged right in so i didnt have to rewire anything except a manual switch to the cooling fan because for some reason it didnt kick on automatically after the swap. i used a 91 teg dizzy, alternator flywheel and starter with a 90 ls tranny.....i also swapped out the clutch cable and throttle cable with one from a teg...i just used a skunk2 intake manifold on mine, but i still had to shave it to get the bolts to fit...shitty craftsmanship i tell ya
have fun picking up bolts and misc junk from the dealership...i was there all the damn time..
hit me up if you need any help

Sweet, thanks for the info. I am thinking this will go fairly smooth.
