Thanks for doing this, Styro, and thanks to Dave Lindsay for posting a few pictures, too. Aside from the obvious shame of stealing this terrific piece in the first place, this model was being cleaned up and preppeed to be transported to Japan by Pete next month for the Shazouka Hobby show and then permanently installed at the Tamiya Museum in Japan. This model is a VERY important piece of modelling history. I hope it can be recovered.




I just got an email from Pete Johnson letting me know that someone broke into his garage on Saturday night and stole an number of items, including his Ramarossa model that he built for TamiyaCon. Pete lives in the North County area of San Diego and that's where the theft took place. It's possible that this might show up on ebay or be offered for sale in some other way, or that it might end up a show someplace. If you happen to see it anyplace, please contact Pete Johnson at [email protected] or me at [email protected]. I know this is a long shot, but you never know and it's worth keeping an eye out for this model.

If anyone out there can tell me how to post a picture of the model, I'll be happy to provide it.

Skip - Would you do me a favor and forward this letter to all club members. I had a thief brake into my garage last night, and in addition to $2,000 worth or R/C equipment they got the Ramarossa. I know it is a slim chance that it will ever be seen again, but I would like members to keep an eye out for it just in case someone try's to pedal it, or show it at a show.

There is some consolation though that a modeler probably wouldn't involve the model in some kind of demolition derby with the RC cars and "respect" (I use the term loosely) the model as to not to harm/destroy it.

I HATE THIEVES!!!! My garage was broken into about 2 months ago and I had about $1,500.00 to $2,000.00 worth of tools stolen (the ones i can remember) and man what I would to to the people responsible if I had even 5 mins with one of them
