styrene questions

i know these questions are gona anoy the shit outa some of you, but i want to know a few things...??

1. where can i buy styrene, i would rather buy them at a store but online would work also, i checked everywhere and couldnt find it...

2. is it possible to make make a 1/10 scale car body outa it, i dont care how hard it would be but would it be possible...

3. is it possible to make a 1/10 scale car body that wouldnt be heavy..., like under a pound or something...?

4. is there any tutorials about it, i read the one about mufflers or whatever but thats the styrene tubes, is there a tutorials on makeing stuff with the sheets...???

1- I buy my styrene at my local hobby shop but since you can't find any anywhere you might have to buy online.

2- sure it woul be possible but really difficult! I'd like to see you do it though.

3- Styrene is light, if you made the body with putty and styrene I don't think it woulb anywhere near a pound.

4- You've got to try, it will be difficult but mainly you would be using putty and styrene

one more question, about how much would it cost for me to try it enough to get a good result, i mean i would buy alot and try to make something over and over so how much would it cost to come up with something half good...

and if your gona say something like "just look online at prices and estimate it" im already doing it or done it by the time this is read...

ok... i got some prices so i know all that now...

this is probobly the wrong place to ask for something like this but how would i go about scaleing something

basically what my plan is to build a 1/14 scale 69 GTO..., and i have a 1/24 scale diecast, and will probobly get a model of it also to make it a lil easyer ot model..., but how would i make each part bigger, this is gona be some hard shit, but would i just measure everything and then make a rough model and use putty to smooth it out..., does that make sense...

no... i think i got it..., what im gona do is measure every cm of the model and then scale it up all on graph paper then ill get the styrene and cut out to the scaled sizes, before i get to the putty itll look like a low poly model but then i should be able to smooth it out...

... one last question


is there a way i can heat up styrene or melt it or something to make it become rounder or whatever without it changing size...?

Cosmos said you can bend two peices of styrene and glue them together so that they stay in place.

But if you want the styrene to really make sharp curves you'll probably have to heat it.
