Definately one of my very favorite cars. Probably a 2nd or so.
Not that the Virage Vantage wasn't geat. but the Lemans was much meaner looking and the final (rare) v8 to boot.
Gotta love twin superchargers :D

Anyone have any good pics of em?
Theres a black one on Auto Singen and CarClassics, I think theyre the same (both are 12000km, black, LHD)
Very pimp

Even with the pictures it's not all that great... to be honest I don't see whats so damn amazing about the car I mean it Ok and all but still it can't be the most wanted car on this planet.

it is the first one i have seen in real life although i have seen a few v8 coupe's and v8 vantages around

Video of Le Mans I have just seen a few days ago reminded me of conversation with one of ex Aston Martin dealers - when I was in Germany and how he spoke in great detail how AM Vantage V8 was unbearable to meet any environment regulation.

They contacted AM people in UK, but all they had to say to owners and those who wanted to remedy this, was : it is as it is !

This engine was considered forbidden in most of European countries, and had no chance for US, AM silently remarked about departure, but not even closely the real reason.

But, it is last AM engine build, and will remain so, until insanely wealthy individual gives a Ford offer, he can?t refuse and give all freedom back to AM, but even then, most of proud people already left AM after Ford decided to choose engines instead AM.

So, the last hand built engine and car is but a proud memory.

how much is the V8 Lemans? when was it that Ford bought Aston Martin, and what are the latest Ford-inspired models? Vanquish, AMV8 Vantage, what else?

the vantage le mans was around Ģ230,000 in the uk, ford bought AM in 1987. But the only thing Ford do apart from funding is let AM loose in their parts bin although that seems to be getting better with the DB9 and newer models.

The Le Mans version is pointless. So much more expensive than the ''standard'' V8 Vantage!!!! And for what? It's just a plastic bodykit. The mechanicals are unchanged! You get a stupid ugly front double-nostril-like redesign and a slightly different dashboard. Oh! and magnesium wheels! And you can boast the fact that only 40 were made (I say I'm surprised they found 40 people to throw away their money this thing is ugly!). Please! I'll take the standard V8 Vantage preferably with the V600 kit thank you! It's one of my all-time favorites.

Perhaps the most important thing that Ford has brought to Aston Martin besides the consistent funding is that Aston Martin now has access to facilities and expertise from throughout the organization. A key example of this is that the DB9 safety systems were developed and tested at Volvos facility in Sweden, utilizing their world renowned expertise.

If anyone should have the original Vantage LeMans brochure, I urgently want it.

Itīs standard size and comes in a metallicgreen slipcase.

For me this is the ultimate Aston Martin too, at least if You put the DB4 GT Zagato into another class ;)
