Emblem?

I have a 99 spdyer eclipse. i do not have the embolem on the back that says SYPDER. does anyone know where i can get it, other than from a dealer? thanks. also anyone know anything about installing a clockspring??

why not get it from the dealer, it's not gonna be expensive... 20 bucks at the most, and most places online will charge you that much anyways lplus the shipping tax.

i have already checked at the dealer. they want about 40 for it. im kinda low on money.

This is off topic, but, have you had any problems with your conv. top? I have a problem with the top closing sometimes. Those V shaped sping-like things in middle of top gets hung on seat moulding. Just bought used, and like you am scared of dealership prices. Any help? :confused:

im sorry i have not had a problem with my top closing. the only thing i have a problem with is leaking at corner of the windsheild. sometimes it doesnt leak sometimes it does. sorry i cant help ya

I would say the best place is to try ebay...I know before when I was on ebay a lot, I'd see them selling for around 15-20 bux....there is a guy (his ebay name is xstanlyx) that sells different mitsu stuff...I bought 2 Eclipse license plates off of him and he always throws in "free" items...which included the silver diamond star (like on the new 3g's) and he also included the Spyder emblem too...you might be able to write him and see....You'd get a better deal....buy a license plate or something else from him and get your decal for free...:D

Nah, it's best to keep the spyder emblem. That's all i have left on my car, that and the emblem on the front but the '00 version. Everything else is gone.

BTW, i have that same exact leak in my front corner. I even had my car taken to three specialists to stop all the leaks. and everything else but that ONE is there. I would say don't worry about it too much, cause i am coming to believe it's common on all Spyders to leak there, like it's a factory problem.

yea you need that emblem, you dont want anyone mistaking you for a coupe or anything :D

yes, i have both of those problems.. i have a silver car with a black top, and mine sometimes leaks as well... i don't really have the problem anymore, but that is because it is too low, and i can't take it through a carwash anymore. i have never had leakage from rain, but i would assume that if your car is in a storm, it might get a bit wet... as for the other problem, yes, it carried into the 3rd gen also... i actually had one idiot come up to me and say "wow, i did not know this was convertable - i thought this was just the top, ya know how on some old cars they did that?" i just drive away... no time for morons. if you have any other questions about the new spyder, gimme a shout back

ummmm i would say leave it off , you dont need a emblem to show that you are a spyder , i mean the top pretty much shows that.......

and if you care about people seeing it , then i would just say sell your DSM and go get a mustang......:flash:

a mustang? there may be a reason that the person with the dsm bought it in the first place, probably because they wanted an import.

i think that u missed his meaning with that... either that, or i did, but i took that as a rip on mustang owners.... they care some much about the fact they they drive a mustang, and just love the name.. i dont' need the spyder decal on my car for me to know that it is a spyder, and i would not really care if i did not have it on there. i think that was his point
