I have a question about my Stang. I have a 72 that looks just like a Grande. vinyl top and chrome but the vin says its just a hardtop anyone know if there is a physical difference or did they make a hardtop with vinyl as an option? If so what makes a Grande a Grande. I can post pics if some one would like to see it if that would help determine anything. the reason I am so confused is when I looked up the vin online is says it is a 72 hardtop with a 351 ram air induction. well the ram air and stock 351 are gone? you got me any help would be grand thanks,

Yes hard top with vinyl is an option. It's hard to believe that a Grande would have a 351 w/ram air anyway.
Sometimes Ford dealerships have old books that tell you everything about the car there is to know. I had a 67 convertible that was a GT clone, but I didn't know that until a couple years when I went to sell it. It had a 4 speed in it, but was originally a 3 speed! And it wasn't a GT.
