Starter ?????

I have a small block in my 91 s10 and i can not get my starter to catch on the fly wheel. There was a regular starter in the truck before and it work and the flywheel is not stripped. I was just wondering if anyone else has had any problems and if a mini starter may be the only solution

get some starter shims between the starter and the block. Add or remove until the starter grabs properly.
