Stradale Stratos Process (Many Piccies)

Hi I based my little and easy conversion on this model here ; the 1977 lancia Stratos . My kit was reboxed by Revell AG, but it remains all the same.
The final result is to obtain something like this ; The 1977 Lancia Stratos Stradale, the road variant of the same kit .
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/614385nogzoweentje.jpg
So I did a bit of research, and realised a bit had to be changed, as for example the dashboard, that is completely different, here 's my try (first time Scratch building here ;
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/537788D1.jpg
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/786438D2.jpg
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/994415D3.jpg
The interior was also a bit different, there was some foot panels and there were no holes in the central tunnel .
as you can see here
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/300516d4.jpg
And the street Stratos had a little hook between the seats.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/823314d5.jpg
And for the rest I m building it pretty much OOB, because the Stradale version was more or less the same then the Rallye one .
The coulour in the pics is a bit light , but it should match the pic (the real one's coulour) perfectly.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/836784a1.jpg
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/743634a2.jpg
Some minor exterior mods were also done, to make the car the stradale version.
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/687030a3.jpg
And as you might see, I got a bit silly and seeing this zebra in the toyu shop I decided to buy it and add some detail (eyes and stripes and the feet) and weather it a bit, like an urban zebra would be ;)
Thanks btw to alex, for the reference pics :)
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/705640a4.jpg
Well, readers ;) I hope I haven't stolen too much from your time, and if you want to leave a comment, feel free to do so, I will be more then happy .
Peace, Olivier

It's the light green spraycan from Tamiya .
Oh, and forgot to mention, originally a Hasegawa kit, pretty much curbside, and I m loving it !
Daggerlee, I sure wil keep you updated ! And don't think this is the final form of the dashboard, I have added putty and corrected the lines, so I am satisfied with the final result.
Olivier
Ps.
The plan is to includ some seatbelts, reduce the width of the tyres and make it a stratos I could be proud of !
And, guys,
thanks for the comments !

Good to see you are daring and trying things for the first time.
Only when you try will you know and gain experiences.

Her's a little update...
The dashboard has been made to meet the stradale's specs.
I m very happy, it's my first scrachbuilding "project" and looks the way I wanted it to be.

Thanks to RallyRaider, who helped me and send me some rims and the right dashboard for the stratos stradale, made by fujimi, I can finally spend some time detailing the suspentions. This is really a very nice gesture and I appreciate it very much !
Anyway, here's the update ;
http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/235679Stratoscomparison.jpg
Above you see teh hasegawa modified dashboard and rims and tyres, compared to the fujimi's from the stradale kit.
The hasegawa's are male rims, while the fuji's are female. The dash from the fujimi is also an accurate representation from the real stradale, something I could never have dreamt to build , so thanks again phil !
As for teh qualities of the plastics, I must say they are each extremely well, and there's no difference between them in terms of quality.
And here is a little pic of the body of the Stratos, which I heve primered, painted, compounded, painted (because I had to take out some paint out of the holes in the hood and took some paint away ) and re-compounded.
I am quite satisfied. The only thing which is a bit .... je ne sais quoi... is the panel lines, They are not deep enough for a fine tip marker, so I might leave it this way or try the capillar method , as recommended by Tamiya.

A Stratos as it's meant to be, though I'd be interested to see you build a matching Enthusiast Series version of this car.

All right, I kinda messed up on my first try ...
As I forgot to sand a little plate that is there on the rallycar behind the doors under the car, I decided to go the realistic way and sand it out, which ment I needed to respray the whole car, I did more work on the interiour, and this is what I have sofar...
- Used parts from the fujimi car (dashboard, fake rim for the front, rims, steering wheel, decals... ) and integrated them ( WHEREFOR BIG THANKS TO RALLYRAIDER ! )
-changed most of the interior details to stradale specs, and some other stuff that's been going on forever

Future boy: I ve got one in the box, but I m not plannign to do the rally version anytime soon... There s so much to do, so little time!
I ll try to get you guys more and quicklier updated pics...

You make me wanna pull out my old enthusiast Stratos and continue with it again. Your build looks fabuolus and you've put on exactly the color mine is planned to get. I saw an article in magazine on a green stradale and got hooked on this poison green. Looking forward to see the progress on this one, good work...keep it up!

Words speak for themselves, this is the body fitted to the chassis , was a very very very very very tight fit, all went pretty ok, just broke the front stuffy, but hey, that ll be touched up later...
Prolly it ll come out OK, for sertain! :loser: :loser: :loser: :loser:
The little arrow is to show where to sand out the square on the hasegawa-revell car, if anybody would like to do this too... (not likely as the hasegawa stradale is coming out soon)
Also there is a bit of peel on it, I ll try to wax it and then I think it ll look presentable.
The body is not really finished, needs more touchups and decals...
told you I ll be updating... :-)
Thanks

Looks great! That's a perfect stand out color for such a stand out, funny looking, but beautiful car. What's about those seats? What paint is that, it looks just like fiberglass! (Sorry if it's not suposed to.)

this one is going pretty fast actually,
I finished the rims yesterday, painted ts-17 and covered with a wash of smoke, titanium and flatblack.... looks exactly the real deal like in the reference pictures.
I also added the stratos decals, and cleant the body for waxing...
The black parts of the car (roof spoiler, rear spoiler and the engine cover) will have to be resprayed as they re not really well done...
http://img71.photobucket.com/albums/v215/bigfrit/a_019.jpg
Oli (still racing the clock to have it done before hasegawa releases theirs ;-) )

Really does justice to this masterpiece of design! Even more when you'll have the black parts painted again. You're faster than Hasegawa!

Perfect color choice too!!

Did I ever tell you I love you??
