some guy at my girlfriends work wants to race me and he has a 87 supra... she brags about how fast my car is all the time regardless of how much i tell her that its not that fast.. lol before she told some guy with a 2002 mustang GT that i would own his ass...
who would win.. if the supra would win what would it take for my integra to win (addons).. as is all i have is an intake and Z-rated tires on 15-inch GS-R wheels.
ive seen the supra, its bone stock and in not that great condition and its not the turbo model
**sorry for double post if you see this in the integra forum as well, im trying to get an unbiased opinion by posting in both**

Your still talkin 200 worn down ponies under the hood and 187 torque that will easily carry at high end up to about 130, factory redline limits the top speed to 136 at 6 1/2 rpm. In my personal experience with 200 vtec hp races, with me in my 89 with just a k&n and a few bypass tricks, I have seen 4 cyl vtec hang until about 105 when I carry steady and they start to lose power, up to then you might be good. The car also screams with low end torque that is aid with a gear ratio as short as a miatas (this has been tested by me and my friend). Hoping to god that he has a manual, Then my personal opinion would actually base it all on who shifts better.

As for addons, you should try a good flywheel to aid launches before your vtec kicks in, or any other lightweight crank related stuff.

well id say that this is a good race. both cars stock are capable of mid 15 second passes. so id say it all comes down to the drivers. unless his car is really fucked. my friend ran his gutted 87 at the track with an intka and 2.5 catback. but his rings are fried. he would smoke so bad at the line that ppl thought he was doing a burnout. he was only able to muster a 15.8. when he should have been mid to low 15's easy. so if his car isnt in as good of shape as your car. you might be able to win. if you can drive. hope it helps

this is a 90 integra.. i have no vtec
i found out that he has a 5spd
i can drive hella good but if his cars faster that wont help much...
we'd be doing this on like a 2/3 mile stretch of straight road that i know about

well that does make a big differance. id say without some basic bolt ons you will have a very tough time beating him. like intake and full exhaust. (header catback) otherwise i dont see you winning. but this is of course with equal drivers. if he messes up or he cant launch it correctly then you have chance to win. let us know what happens im getting very interested in the outcome now.

car comparison:
Supra -
200 hp
187 torque
5speed
3500 lbs
Integra -
130 hp
121 torque
5speed
2500 lbs
i have an intake - 5 hp
taking off the pulleys (AC/PS) - 15 hp
hollowing out catalytic convertor - 10hp
doing like 50 lbs of weight reduction - 5hp
exhaust im getting - 5hp
header im getting - 5 hp
theres 45 horsepower (probably wont be that much, but just for the sake of even numbers), then i'll have 175 horsepower and my car weighs 1000 lbs less... think i'd have a chance then?

well id say that with an intake, header, no cat. and cat back. you could keep up well and prolly beat him depending on how much faster he is.
and the easiest way to determine your weight is. find your GVWR and write it down. then find your tire size sticker either in your handbook or on the car somewhere. it will tell you the total weight the car can handle. take that number and subtract it from the GVWR. this tells you with in 50lbs how heavy your car weighs. cause 2500 is very light and that my 95 celica weighs 2700lbs. and thats a very light car. id say your closer to that.
cause HP to weight for the supra is:17lbs/Hp
your car is:21.xxlbs/Hp@2800lbs
:19.23lbs/Hp@2500lbs
you would need 147Hp just to match that 17lbs/Hp and you still have shorter gears. as long as you arent runnin for money then race him and see whos faster. thats what i thought drag racing is for.
BTW the supra turbo hp/weight is:15.3
mine right now is roughly 14.1:D

i was talking about this to some people in the integra forums and they said that with i/h/e, no cat, 50 lbs weight reduction, adjustable cam gears, no ps/ac belts, and a little advanced timing i could probably tie or even beat him

did you race him yet? if your that worried about it ask for a staggered start. start off with you about a car or two ahead. or just line em up and go.
