Help!!! No fuel through cis fuel distributor to cylindar injectors. Plenty of fuel from cold start injector so good fuel pressure? Fuel pump runs during cranking + 1/2 sec. Shouldn't the fuel pump run when I manually lift the airflow sensor plate inside the fuel distributor? Problem started months ago with no idle on cold start, had to pedal to keep it running until warm up then ran fine. Months later would sputter a bit on rare occaisions. Now no start at all. Can't get fuel through injector tubes even with injectors removed from tubes. Tried fuel/ignition computer, no help. Replaced filters, air & fuel no difference. Coolant temp sensor OK. Good spark from plugs. NOW WHAT??? PLEASE HELP!!!

After further web searches it seems that I have a Bosch KE Jetronic fuel injection system. The cold start valve has a health spray pattern and there was stong pressure spraying from the fuel lines when I removed the fuel distributor for closer inspection. I do not have a fuel pressure gauge so I can't be certain but it seems OK. Thanks for your response.

Yes, KE-Jetronic is Bosch's name for the CIS-E injection system.
Early first generation Fox's have CIS engines, or K- Jetronic, and second generation have Digifant engines, or L-Jetronic.

Boy are you in trouble -- Take it to a VW dealer .
Or keep replaceing parts till you find out whats wrong- That is all they will do at the shop - seriously-
Do you have the fuel block on top of the air flow sensor plate ?
Is there a little plastic thing a ma jig on the side (beige i belive) held on with screws -with a wire connector on the end ? Next to the psi regulator ?
That is the Differential pressure regulator - I had a 85 and 87 golf that had the same problem as you with no gas getting to the spark plugs - put one of those little suckers in and that fixed the problem- after pulling out my hair and wallet trying to figure out what the heck was wrong..
quite Expensive I belive - Got a few from the salvage yard cheaper - Unless that is why the car junked in the first place...:p let me know if that was it - trial and error is the only way to fix these frickn cars if you ask me -the manuals are a joke .

I am having the same problems with my 88 VW GTI 16V. I put a new fuel pump on it, and get fuel pressure to the fuel distributor, so I bought a used cis-e fuel distirbutor off ebay and it still does not work. I get PLENTY of pressure off the cold start valve when it is taken off. I have disconnected all the injector lines off of the fuel distributor and nothing comes out what so ever. I was curious if someone can help me out on what this problem can be. Thanks for any help.

Thats the problem with getting VW parts of E-bay, it might be in the same shape as yours, I really have no idea how to check it either...

Did you lift the air flow plate to see if the injectors spray then?
