Who here believes in what and why do you believe whatever you believe?
I've seen all of the photos, I've heard all the slack-jawed yokels talk about little green men visiting them at their cousin's trailer and I've heard all the hype about Roswell....but, I still don't believe it.
If.....that is, IF there is intelligent, extraterrestrial life out there somewhere, and it did try to get here (who knows why...maybe to pick up a Ferrari or a GT-R or something), then let's see...
The closes star to earth is Proxima centauri (correct me if I'm wrong) at around 2 light years away. Now, assuming there is a planet capable of supporting life there, and they sent a rocket out to meet us...think of the fuel consumption! They couldn't make a trip like that because they couldn't hold that much fuel....I assume. But, even if they did use solar sails, or nuclear propulsion from cold fusion or something, that trip would still take a minimum of 2 years (special relativity limits the maximum speed of anything to less than the speed of light....as you approach the speed of light you approach infinite mass, infinite mass would require infinite energy to even budge).
Of course, what about worm-holes? A planet millions of light years away could be just a hop, skip and a jump away from us if worm holes do exist. But, that's just a cracked out theory.
Me, I don't believe in extra terrestrial life forms coming here. I do believe that there is life on other planets. There are so many stars, so many planets out there, that it would be somewhat absurd to think that whatever fluke of nature or grace of God put us here wouldn't do the same somewhere else.
That's my thoughts on the monkey-business. What do yall think?

Yeah thats kinda how i feel . I believe that were not the only thing out their im sure theirs someone or something else out their ....earth compared to the whole solar system is like compareing a piece of ice to the North pole ....basically i believe their is a whole lot more out their . It's just like when i was a kid i had alot of interest in space and that stuff like star trek . I hope that one day we'll be able to meet someone from somewhere else or be able to go to some far away planet ...imo that would be cool :)

I'm 110% sure that we're not alone but, it will take a while before we can visit ET. I also though that the closest star was Alpha Centurai.
P. S. I don't think Aliens would travel 800 billion light years to steal a Ferrari. Maybe a drunk but they probably have transporter beams like in star trek.

Well, I'd travel any distance for a prancing horse. But, hey, that's just me. You're kind of right about Alpha centauri being the closest. In fact "Alpha Centauri" is a cluster of three stars...AC 1, AC 2, and AC 3. Alpha Centauri 3 is much smaller than the others, and is a considerable distance away (towards the sun) from the others....so far that it is unknown whether it is bound to the others (which rotate about one another) and is often called proxima centauri. However, the other stars (1 & 2) are more sun-like in size, so I should used them in my model (more likely to have life-supporting planets).
I checked in my almanac and it lists Alpha centauri at 4.4 light years away....which works out to about 25,883,149,610,000 miles!

I think it would be pretty stupid to think that throughout the whole universe, no other life has formed.
I believe that they have visited us, and continue to do so.

Well, if they did visit us, we sure wouldn't have evidence or real proof. I think that if they could make it here, they would have some means of cloaking themselves.
If there was no other life, we'd be able to conquer galaxies within a 1000 years or so. Then we have deviations of human life and we'll all end up in a Star Wars type setting.

Haven't you ever heard of Area 51? There's tons of evidence out there. It's just hidden from the public. It's more government manipulation of the people it's supposed to serve. They think they have the right to decide what we can and cannot know, can and cannot see, etc. The scariest part is how succesful they are in pulling it all off. That's why we continue to need to protect the 2nd Amendment...
I'm getting way off on a tangent here. The arguments for and against ET evidence goes both ways. I personally believe in it, and that the media, while teasing us, manages to manipulate the stories with reality shows that illustrate those that observe Aliens, flying saucers, and UFO's as alcoholics, crazy, or just plain stupid.
As for the notion that we are the only intelligent life forms in the Universe, well mathematical probabilities are just about infinitely SMALL that this is the truth.

Why do I believe they've visited us?
Because there are just so many totally believable reports from people. (astronauts, pilots, military men, etc) As well as from regular civilians - they aren't all nutters and hicks.
Also there is plenty of film footage out there.
Sure, there are loads of fakes, and these fakes tend to make the real evidence harder to see and believe. But I believe.

Yes, I have heard of Area 51 and I'm well educated on it. I know enoguh to stay away and not ask questions. But we won't know what is there so for the sake of argument, let's just disclude Area 51 because nobody here has any proof of what goes on there. Just also tihnk about all of the other Top-Secret military intsallations that we don't know about.

We should be able to ask questions. The government has no right to hide things like that from the people.
But saying that, I do find the mystery of it all appealing.

I agree there, but if you go near there, you get shot and killed. I don't agree with the govenrment covering all of this stuff up. People think that they have a right to know, which they do but do they really wnat to know. I'd rather believe Aliens were out there and see myself rather than be told they're being held between 500 miles of desert and any other civilisation.
The bottom line is that the government is better suited to deal with this sort ofo thing, that's why we won't know for a while yet.

Hey, I thought a while ago the Air Force aknowledged the evidence of Area 51, but since then activity near there has pretty much ceased. Now people are saying that there is activity out in the Boonies in Utah, so now there saying there is a base out there.

Er...ermm...you all mean to say that all those stuffs in the X-File are not true? My God, I had always thought they were true:grey: :grey:
Er...seriously, I do believe in the existence of aliens. I mean, the whole outer space, infinite in size and volume, and only the Earth has occupants? What a waste of space! The alien may not be in theform the X-File is portraying. It could be in the form af an algae or bacteria or something. But then again, all of us could have been the aliens we are looking for. I also believe they have visited us from a long time ago. Did ypou all read about the Inca civilisation? I have seen objects from the Inca civilisation resembling miniature planes! The truth is out there:alien2:

It would be wrong to think that we are alone in the universe, and conceited to say that we are the smartest living thing out there.
I would like to know if aliens are supposed to be really intelligent why is it that they can only find the most dumbest human being out there to take back and experiment with?

They probably choose people that are less likely to be taken seriously. If what you say is true.
The government probably chooses the people for them.
